All experiments will be carried on at home under parent's supervision.
Home Reading Assignments and Coverage of Material
We will cover one Module of the textbook every 2 weeks
Homework: Simply Read at home the textbook pages assigned.
1st Week and all subsequent weeks
Read chapter 1 for every week of class.
“On your Own Questions”
It is recommended that you do each exercise on the “on your own questions” for each chapter.
I will go over any of the exercises during class if any student has any questions on them.
It is not imperative that students cover these exercises. However, it is highly recommended that students do them at home.
Quizzes Format
There will be 10-12 questions for every take home quiz or exam every 2 weeks.
Students need to answer only 10 out of the 12 questions.
If extra credit is desired for the quizzes you may go ahead and answer all 12 questions.
Quizzes and exams will be graded in class or automatically in order to benefit the most students.
Material covered in the quizzes will be addressed in class until all questions, if any have been satisfied for every student.
TEST FORMAT
All tests will always be “Open Book Tests”.
Oral Tests
Oral Tests: There may be occasional oral tests designed to boot the student's academic grades. These tests will be entirely at the discretion of the instructor.
Oral tests may consist of: Naming of Elements, their Atomic Number, Atomic Mass, number of valence electrons, metal of non-metal status.
Additionally, oral tests and extra grading may include doing exercises in class for any of the covered material and for active class participation.
