The Teaching of Hell is not in the Bible

An Intellectual note to our discussions

The fact that some arguments in this science based blog may be based upon biblical quotes and or beliefs, does not change the fact that there are undeniable scientific challenges to Darwin’s and neo-Darwinian theory of “evolution”.

Please note that, while there are important biblical, and even religious, dimensions to this page issue, it does not mean that secularists, and atheistic philosophers can ignore the irrational, naive, and preposterous scientific weaknesses in their “billions of years”, evolutionary, materialistic arguments.

Luskin summed up this concept when he said, “Until those scientific problems are addressed, scientists will continue to grow skeptical of evolutionary theory” (Luskin, 2015) .

The Question of Hell in the Bible - Questioned
In order to know if a matter is truth one must be able to measure it against a reliable and unchangeable standard.

What are the reliables and unchangeable standards ?

Revelation 1:18 the Adam Clark commentary speaking of Jesus, says:
"I am he that liveth, and was dead - ...... And have the keys of death and the grave, so that I can destroy the living and raise the dead. The key here signifies the power and authority over life, death, and the grave" https://www.studylight.org/commentary/revelation/1-18.html. Accessed Oct 30th, 2017

The BibleStudytools.com version of the same verse says:

REv 1: 18  " I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades".

However, a sermon by a preacher by the name of Spurgeon in 1869 spells the same verse as death and hell.

"Charles Spurgeon talks about the dominion Christ exercises over all of creation.
A Sermon Delivered On Sunday Morning, October, 3, 1869, By C. H. Spurgeon, At The Metropolitan Tabernacle, Newington. 4/17/2011*4/17/2011
I have the keys of hell and of death. (Revelation 1:18)"  https://answersingenesis.org/education/spurgeon-sermons/894-christ-with-the-keys-of-death-and-hell/ Accessed Oct 30th, 2017
Which one of these translations and interpretations is correct ?

New Testament

The New Testament equates the word Sheol, the common grave of mankind to Hades here:
"In New Testament Greek, the Hebrew phrase "לא־תעזב נפשׁי לשׁאול" (you will not abandon my soul to Sheol) in Psalm 16:10 is quoted in Acts 2:27 as "οὐκ ἐγκαταλείψεις τὴν ψυχήν μου εἰς ᾅδου" (you will not abandon my soul to Hades)".  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_views_on_Hades   Accessed Oct 30th, 2017.

"In all appearances but one, "ᾅδης" has little if any relation to afterlife rewards or punishments. The one exception is Luke's parable of Lazarus and the rich man, in which the rich man finds himself, after death, in Hades, and "in anguish in this flame",[5] while in contrast the angels take Lazarus to "the bosom of Abraham",[6] described as a state of comfort".

It is obvious that the meaning of hell has been distorted by the perceptions and beliefs, albeit incorrect of preachers and translators of the Bible. Distortion, obviously about the meaning of Hades. Hades and Hell are not the same.

God is not a God of vindictiveness that he should hold his creatures captive in a burning torturing Hell. That is inconceivable -  God does not gain anything by torturing his Creatures. That thought is totally anti biblical, anti God and anti human. For even humans give death sentenced criminals due mercy so as not to suffer at their time of execution.

Why would God the maker of men, then want to do the total opposite of what humans, in an effort to show mercy do to their death sentenced? That is preposterous and ungodly. God is Love. God is not Vindictiveness.

All religions and or biblical movements that declare the existence of a Hell are totally in contradiction of the Bible and of a God that created all things with Love and mercifulness.

Answer in Genesis, the Catholic Church, and various other organizations who claim the anti biblical belief in Hell are doing so against the teachings of the Bible that they themselves proclaim are following.

A writer when speaking of Hell, said the following:
"The belief of an Eternal “hellfire” is not consistent with the loving God of the Bible.

"While God wants all to be saved, He is not like humans that are vindictive and unmerciful.
The worst of humans today would never subject his son or daughter to an eternal burning punishment in some jail on the world simply because they did not obey them as parents. That is inhuman. That is unGodly and contrary to the “image of God”.
Should we then expect God, a loving and kind person, who does not “desire any to be destroyed” to subject his most vulnerable creatures to an eternal “Lake of Fire”? That is totally against God's nature".

The Bible is always in agreement with itself

The Bible does not contradict itself at all. All 66 Books of the Sacred Scriptures must be in absolute agreement with each other. Thus, you will not find absolutely one example or the word Hell in the "Old Testament" of Hebrew scriptures.

The word "Sheol" is the word referred to as the common grave of mankind where all the dead ultimately rest. Never does the Hebrew Scripture or the Old Testament refers "Sheol" as a place of torment, NEVER.

Thus, any inferences to "Hell" in the Greek scriptures are either bad translations or bad interpretations of such word.

The Roman Catholic Church (RCC) has recently admitted (after 1,800 years of waffling) that there is no "Limbo."

Thus, it is expected that perhaps in a few hundred years, after the present state of "dark ages" passes, both with regards to the unscientific teaching of "evolution" and the un biblical teaching of "Hell", that churches and organizations that teach any of those un-sustained beliefs, will ultimately acquiesce, rescind and recognize the error of their teachings.

Humans are constantly correcting their "theories" and beliefs. The Bible, however when properly translated will always be the source of truth in ALL respects.
